SADC Region at World Water Week 2025
SADC Collaboration Shines at World Water Week 2025
As World Water Week 2025 unfolds from August 24th to 28th, the Southern African Development Community region is making a powerful statement through unprecedented collaboration. At the heart of this global gathering, a vibrant exhibition booth is showcasing the collective efforts of seven key institutions, demonstrating the SADC region’s unwavering commitment to innovative water solutions for climate action.
Leading this charge is the SADC Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI), proudly collaborating with Baseflow, Global Water Partnership – Southern Africa, Incomati and Maputo Watercourse Commission (INMACOM), Cuvelai Watercourse Commission (CUVECOM), Limpopo Watercourse Commission (LIMCOM), World Vision – Zimbabwe, and the Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM). Together, these organizations are not just exhibiting; they are illustrating the profound impact of working together towards a common, vital goal.
Their participation in World Water Week demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration in tackling some of the most urgent environmental challenges we face today. By showcasing both completed projects and ongoing initiatives, they illustrate how the SADC region is actively working to mitigate the impacts of climate change and promote sustainable water management for the benefit of both current and future generations.
This collective effort underscores a crucial message: when organizations unite for sustainable groundwater management and climate change mitigation, the achievements are far-reaching and impactful. The SADC flag is flying high in Stockholm, symbolizing a region dedicated to securing its water future through shared vision and concerted action.
We continue to proudly raise the SADC flag throughout World Water Week, demonstrating the strength and innovation that emerges when we truly work together.
Stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses!
