What is Groundwater Literature?
Groundwater literature includes all that literature not readily available, such as research theses, conference papers, government reports, consulting reports and any other hydrogeological reports.
The SADC Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) initiated a project to update the SADC Groundwater Literature Archive (SADC-GLA), to make it a fully functional online archive of groundwater literature for the SADC region. The project started in February 2020 and ended in October 2020. It was implemented by the British Geological Survey (BGS), in collaboration with the International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC). As a result of this project, the platform was upgraded in terms of user interface, functionality as well as content
The SADC-GLA has been undergoing further upgrades by uploading more records to it. This has been effected with partnerships from University of Namibia, Mzuzu University (Malawi) and University of Botswana
SADC Groundwater Literature Archive
A range of mainly unpublished “grey data” reports, papers, manuals and maps describing hydrogeological work undertaken within countries in the SADC region during the 20th Century are available to download free of charge. These reports can inform wealth creation in the SADC region by providing valuable and much needed information on groundwater development and investigation.
